Nathan Matje, PT, OCS, COMT.

Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.

Nathan graduated from St. Ambrose University (SAU) in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.

Experiencing the quality of education that SAU provided at the undergraduate level, he chose to stay with St. Ambrose University receiving his Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2002.

With years of continuing education and growth as a physical therapist and spine pain specialist, Nathan decided that becoming a more skilled therapist required a specific and challenging curriculum to follow. He chose North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). Through the rigors of their course work he became certified as a Certified Orthopedic Manipulative Therapist in 2017.

Leaning on the education that NAIOMT provided, Nathan then became board certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as a Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2019.

Nathan has spent years honing his skills in manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and movement patterns dedicating his education and thought to treating spinal dysfunction and its effects on the whole person physically, psychologically, and socially. He enjoys the challenge of assessing and treating each individual as a whole, developing plans that not only improve neck, back and spine pain, but ones that give an opportunity for sustained health and wellness.

Through many of Nathan’s past athletic accomplishments, including team sports and endurance sports racing ranging from 5K runs to Ironman 70.3/140.6 triathlons he has learned how durable, resilient, and dependable our bodies can be. He understands the strength and coordination our bodies can develop to not only perform at a high level, but to effectively recover from pain and injuries if they do occur. Most importantly, he understands what it takes to stay ahead of pain and setbacks so everyone can keep doing the things they love to do.

Nathan now brings his orthopedic physical therapy directly to those in need though his mobile clinic, Southeastern Physical Therapy, serving the northern Milwaukee areas of Grafton, Cedarburg, Mequon, Germantown, Menomonee Falls, Elm Grove, Brookfield and beyond. Nathan looks forward to the opportunity to work with you to manage your spine pain and reach your fullest potential.
